Aspley Locals to Dig In and Green Their Streets in Community-Led Tree Planting Drive
Aspley residents will come together this Saturday to plant native trees along local streets, helping to green the neighbourhood and make outdoor spaces cooler and more inviting.
The Aspley Community Street Tree Planting will be held on 5 April 2025, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Locals are asked to meet at the sportsfield carpark on Ellison Road, opposite Boulter Street near Marchant Park.
Greening the Streets Together
Hosted by Brisbane City Council, the free event invites people of all ages to help plant trees across 15 selected Aspley streets. No bookings are needed, and all equipment will be provided, with planting holes already prepared.
Residents are encouraged to bring water, wear sturdy shoes, and dress for the weather.

After the planting, attendees can enjoy a sausage sizzle and cold drink, with a free native plant to take home. Council says the event promotes greener, more liveable suburbs, while also building stronger community ties.
