Aspley Hornets Set for Family Fun and Fireworks This New Year’s Eve

Families in Brisbane’s northern suburbs are in for a treat this New Year’s Eve as the Aspley Hornets prepare to host a night of fun-filled activities and dazzling fireworks.

Starting at 4:30 pm, the event promises to be a hub of excitement for children and parents alike. Kids can enjoy face painting, balloon twisting, a jumping castle, and a variety of rides before the main attraction—a stunning fireworks display at 8 pm.

The Hornets’ community-focused event is designed to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for families to celebrate the start of 2025. With its laid-back atmosphere and early fireworks, the event is perfect for families looking to welcome the new year without staying out too late.

Organisers encourage attendees to arrive early to take full advantage of the activities and to secure a good spot for viewing the fireworks. The Aspley Hornets event stands out as a local favourite, offering northern suburbs residents a festive option close to home.

CBD Fireworks This New Year’s Eve

Meanwhile, Brisbane’s iconic LM New Year’s Eve Fireworks will take centre stage in the CBD, with two spectacular displays lighting up the city at 7:45 p.m. and midnight. The event will feature prime viewing locations at South Bank’s Clem Jones Promenade, Cultural Forecourt, Riverside Green, and River Quay.

To ensure safety and an enjoyable experience for all, South Bank will implement controlled access with 13 designated entry points. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early, as water zones will close by 5 pm, and restrictions on alcohol, pets, and drones will be strictly enforced.

For those looking to avoid the crowds, Kangaroo Point Cliffs offer panoramic views of the fireworks along the Brisbane River, while Mount Coot-tha Lookout provides a unique elevated perspective of the city skyline illuminated by bursts of colour.

Public transport, except for the Doomben Line, will operate as usual throughout the night, offering an easy and convenient way to reach the celebrations. Road closures around South Bank will also be in effect, so attendees are advised to plan ahead.

The CBD fireworks are a longstanding tradition that brings together locals and visitors for a memorable start to the new year. With its breathtaking displays and community focus, the CBD remains a top destination for ringing in 2025.
