Local officer fights against breast cancer with a challenge
One of our own is in the midst of a 24 hour fitness challenge all in the hopes of raising much needed awareness and funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
October is Breast Cancer awareness month North Brisbane Police Officer and Senior Constable Glenn decided to challenge himself by completing 24 hours of cardio at his local gym.
Senior Constable Glenn started his personal challenge at 12.00 mid night last night and will conclude at 12.00 mid night tonight and hopes to cover as much “ground” as possible in the 24 hours.
Glenn will make sure to have adequate breaks to refresh and refuel during the 24 hours.

Motorist assaulted, Kedron
Police investigating the assault of a motorist at Kedron yesterday afternoon (Friday, October 13) are attempting to identify a black SUV and its male driver.
The incident occurred around 2.50pm at the intersection of Oliver Street and Leckie Road and involved the male drivers of two vehicles, a 1999 red Holden Jackaroo station wagon and what is believed to have been a black Nissan Dualis (see attached images).
The 24-year-old male driver of the Jackaroo was punched several times to the head and flung to the ground after he had pulled over following an altercation in relation to an overtaking manoeuvre that occurred moments before hand.
The male driver of the black vehicle then kicked and kneed the 24-year-old when he was on the ground, before also kneeing the man’s car. He then returned to his vehicle and drove off, and was last seen travelling north along Leckie Road.

Update – Assault investigation arrest, Loganlea
Detectives have charged a man following investigations into the break-in and assault of a young girl at a home in Loganlea this week.
It will be alleged the 19-year-old man forced his way into a Pinelands Drive home around 5am on Monday.
Once inside it will be alleged the man entered the upstairs bedroom of a six-year-old girl, removing her from the bed and carrying the child downstairs.
When the child screamed it will further be alleged the man assaulted her by striking the girl in the face before fleeing the residence.
Detectives from the Logan District Child Investigation and Protection Unit executed a search warrant on a Haig Street address last night where they located the man and took him into custody.
Further investigations revealed the man is also alleged to have entered a Spruce Street home around 11pm on Tuesday by cutting the flyscreen to a rear bedroom window and climbing into to
